About the Speaker

Dr. Md Shahnur Rahman is a distinguished general practitioner with special interest in the human endocannabinoid system and medicinal cannabis treatments. Originating from Bangladesh with a fundamental medical degree, he further earned a postgraduate diploma in Child Health from South Australia. With extensive experience across multiple hospitals in Victoria and Queensland, Dr. Rahman is now an authorised medicinal cannabis prescriber, having treated over 1,733 patients by July 2024.

Founder of a medicinal cannabis clinic in Hervey Bay, Queensland, he actively mentors other GPs through Medihuanna, sharing insights on establishing medicinal cannabis clinics. Dr. Rahman is recognised for his proactive response to referrals, and dedication to knowledge-sharing within the medicinal cannabis community. In his personal life, he enjoys family time and has a rich background in voluntary student organisation leadership and various sports during his university years.
